Τον διεθνούς φήμης πιανίστα Piers Lane σε ένα ρεσιτάλ αφιέρωμα στον Chopin, την Παρασκευή 7 Απρ ιλίου, στις 21:00, στην Ιόνιο Ακαδημία.
O βιρτουόζος πιανίσ τας αφήνει συχνά την βάση του, το Λονδίνο, για να παρουσιάσει το πρόγραμμά του σε διάφορες χώρες ανά τον κόσμο.
Έχει εμφανιστεί 5 φορές ως σολί στ στα London Prom Concerts του BBC, στη σκηνή του Carnegie Hall της Νέας Υόρκης, καθώς και σε πολλές άλλες σημαντικές σκηνές της Βόρειας Αμερικής, ε νώ δεν υπάρχει σχεδόν καμία ευρωπαϊκή χώρα που να μην έχει επισκεφτεί για ν α παίξει. Επίσης, έχει εμφανιστεί στην Κίνα, την Ιαπωνία, το Χονγκ Κονγκ, και άλλες χώρες της Ασίας, καθώς και την Αυστραλία όπου μεγάλωσε.
O Piers Lane λαμβάνει συνεχώς προσκλήσεις για να εμφανιστεί ως σολίστ σε όλο τον κόσμο, και έχει πάρει μέρος σε έναν μεγάλο αριθμό κονσέρτων και έργων σ ε συνεργασία με τις καλύτερες ορχήστρες του κόσμου. Επίσης, έχει ηχογραφήσε ι πάνω από 60 cd.

All Chopin Concert by the world famous Australian Pianist
Piers Lane

This concert is under the Auspices of the Municipality of Corfu. The two P atrons are Kostas Nikolouzos - Mayor of Corfu and Chrysanthos Sarlis - Co f ounder
Piers Lane AO came to Corf u over 20 years ago to play a concert for the Guilford Youth Centre. He sta yed with local residents and met many people and absolutely fell in love wi th this wonderful island. He told me it has always been his dream to return when we were chatting last year. A week or so later he offered to come for an all Chopin concert at a greatly reduced fee and for a holiday in wonder ful places. He will be staying in the beautiful Casa Lucia for two nights t hen to the beautifully situated Corfu Palace Hotel for the rest of the week and we shall visit some of his old favorites and introduce him to gorgeous new places also local tavernas and cafes. He will play the same programme for the famous Wigmore Hall in London just two weeks later.
He has just returned from an extensive tour of the west coast of the USA and Arizona with many highly successful major con certs and then to Melbourne for two concerts of the Last Night of the Proms with the John Ireland concerto and the Victorian Symphony Orchestra. He is based in London and plays all over the world. Five times soloist in the Lo ndon Prom Concerts, many times in New York at Carnegie Hall and all the ma jor centres in North America, almost all the countries in Europe as well as Japan, China, Hong Kong and more in Asia and he is in Australia several ti mes a year. He is in great demand as a soloist with a huge repertoire of co ncertos and plays with the most famous Orchestras. His recitals (as the one we shall hear) are always booked out well in advance and he plays a large number of chamber music concerts to great critical acclaim. He also has rec orded over 60 cds! It is hard to describe this amazing musician but these quotes from The Times in London gives an idea.
